Perfect Timing: A Post of Praise!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I spent it in San Antonio and Austin visiting brand new friends as well as a best friend I’ve known all my life!

The weekend was incredible, and not just because we had tons of fun traipsing about the beautiful, breezy hill country our first night, playing a rousing game of “Guesstimation” after meandering around the River Walk, watching Captain America valiantly take down a diabolically grotesque, red-skulled Nazi scientist, eating the best buffalo burgers I’ve ever had in downtown Austin, or even getting two Crossfit-inspired workouts in at the apartment’s gym. It was incredible because God had a greater plan for our trip that far surpassed even the rich blessing of time spent with friends.

I need to remind myself that this is a public blog post, not a diary entry, nor Page Six of the New York Post. In other words, the details of God’s dazzling display of sovereignty will have to remain private; it’s certainly not my place to shout it from the rooftops of cyber space, though I would love to do so! And perhaps I can when the time is right…and when I have “the rights.” 😉

But even without revealing the play-by-play of the great “display,” I had to share that bit of praise because it isn’t every day that you see the Lord virtually rend the heavens, extend His majestic Michelangelo-esque hand, and place people and arrange places precisely where He wants them to be for something powerful and life-changing to transpire.

(Time out for phone call)…

…Wow… Okay, so I might’ve just experienced a consecutive day of God’s heaven-rending ways! My best friend just called me with some exciting news regarding my upcoming book, Fit for Faith: A Christian Woman’s Guide to Total Fitness. She’s an outstanding personal trainer in Dallas. I actually met her when I was 17 at the first gym I every stepped foot into. She was (is!) the friendliest, most vivacious, most encouraging spin instructor, so much so, in fact, that she actually convinced me to put down my magazine, get off my snail’s pace-set treadmill, and take her class. We went to sushi one night afterward and have been BFF’s ever since!

The best friend I mentioned & me doing an ab exercise for my book!

Anyway, the theme of this weekend – and now, apparently, this Monday as well – has been “God’s Timing: You Just Can’t Beat It!” 😉 On the drive back last night, I was talking with my boyfriend about the different yet equally awe-inspiring ways God moves in our lives. Whereas sometimes we feel Him calling us to obey a particular command, follow a specific leading, or heed the warning of a whisper, there are other times when He simply shows up to pour out His grace and reveal His unmistakable presence in our lives and unmatchable concern for our affairs. This weekend presented the latter in astonishing fashion.

I was going to include an upper body routine that I designed for my book, but I’ll post it later this week—I’m reaching the recommended blog word count ;-).

I pray you see God’s hand, feel His touch, or hear His voice this week. I encourage you to draw near to Him and ask Him to reveal His will for you. As He did with King David, He yearns to make known the path for your life and fill you with joy in His presence! (Psalm 16:11).

Stay fit, stay faithful ~<3 Di
